How can you tell which Online Masters degree programs at online schools are the best?

I’m currently enrolled at APUS (www.apus.edu, regionally and nationally accredited), but a couple coworkers take classes at UMUC (www.umuc.edu, only nationally accredited, but more expensive than Apus) Anyone have any info that could help? Thanks!

University of Maryland University College is regionally accredited by Middle States. APUS is also regionally accredited. And it’s that regional accreditation that you want any school you consider to have – without it, some employers will not consider your degree to be genuine, and you won’t be able to transfer courses. So that regional accreditation is vital.

The reason why UMUC is more expensive is because it has the association with the U Maryland name. Some employers are quite wary of online colleges, so going to one that has an association with a traditional university can help when it comes time to find a job.
