What classes/courses/path should I take in college to become a…?
History Professor–college level obviously. I want to teach a class, if possible, about ancient civilizations and/or ancient legends. What do I need to do in college to do this? I know I need a Ph.D so I’m going to have to go to graduate school. By the way, I’m a senior in high school right now.
You’d have to major in history in both undergrad and then grad school. There’s a checksheet that every college has for every major including history majors on what classes you need to take to complete an undergrad and then a graduate degree. You might want to take more classes on ancient history.
In our college we have “World Civilization prehistory to 1500.” Then another one called “World Civilization from 1500 to Present,” you might also be interested in some art history courses as well.
